TUNISIAN CROCHET with POPCORN STITCH

Tunisian crochet is also known as afghan stitch.  Tunisian crochet is almost always worked  from the right side and almost all patterns done in Tunisian begin with the first row of basic Tunisian crochet.  Each row of Tunisian consists of two parts, a forward and backward motion.  In the forward part, all stitches are picked up and held on the hook; in the backward part, stitches are worked off, usually two at a time.  Because all stitches are held on the hook, a special hook called an afghan hook is used for this method of crochet.  See image below a sample of afghan hooks.

This is a Tunisian crochet with popcorn stitch.
