PATCHWORK PLACEMATS

I made a couple of 13" X 16" patchwork placemats.  Cut up a 2 1/2" wide of different fat quarter fabrics, pieced them together and created a 13 1/2" X 16 1/2", seams are 1/4 inch, placed a different fabric as bindings....any scrap fabrics can also made into a placemat.  These fabrics I used were fat quarters, been cut to its size as 18"X22"......

Well, I decided to buy a "Go Accuquilt Cutter" including "dies (cutter)" I had them for over a month now, haven't decided what to make with it.  There was a pattern attached to them, simple and easy of course!  However, I find that I cannot sit and concentrate what would be my first project with it.  I read couple of Quilting Magazine and Quilting Guidelines as well plus some bloggers, still have no idea what to do first....I had done several table runners, pillow cushions,  tote handbags, and potholders.  This time I am not inspired at all....:-(  Could it be the weather?  :-( 

Perhaps I will start cutting the round and square blocks to try with my "Go Accuquilt Cutter"  :-)

 

Hand Made Coupon Bag

I have been thinking of making my daughter a "coupon bag" or "coupon folder", she had been using a folder for sometime and it looked messy because some of the coupons were folded and some were not all the same size.  So I thought of making her a new one so she can just pull them out from the top instead of having them all in different pages or spaces.  What I have done here was: I went to Hobby Lobby as this store will be closing and moving to another area of the city, I found "photo albums" which were on sale 50% off and "inserts" 40% off.  This is how I started to create something different on this photo album.  I cut up the plastic pages in order to have the opening on top, so to pull out the coupons from the top.  The photos are the finished product of "hand made coupons bag".

 

 

 

Summer Table Runner

I made another table runner which exactly looks like the "hearts table runner", this time I cut the scrap fabrics in different shapes and forms, added Pellon (fusible interfacing) and some designs.  This is how I started to create the table runner. From top to bottom images, the back part of the table runner, the top part of the runner, sewing together each fabric in different angles and shapes.



 

 

Long Round Pillow Cushion

I practically liked the idea of making pillow cushions...pillow cushions are very comfortable, trendy, and easy to make if you have some idea in sewing.  Even fat quarter fabrics or scrap fabrics can be made into a pillow cushion.  This one I made was cut into squares 4" and attached them together add thin batting......and quilted by machine.  Polka dot fabrics and floral fabrics were used.

T-Shirts decorated by me

My husband and I went out shopping last Saturday at Kohl's Department Store, as I was at the Clearance Section I had seen some T-shirts that I really like to wear in the summer time....but because of its simplicity, I added some decorations to add a little bit of life in them...see below what I had done to them...

This is the white T-shirt that I purchased, added different colors of buttons and shapes.  See below the other T-shirt....I embroidered this one with pink embroidery thread in heart-shaped.

Hand Embroidered/Patchwork pillow case

This is one of the pillow cases I purchased and decorated ~ patchwork and hand embroidered decorations....I also added buttons to ornate the flowers in it.  Simple and easy to make.

Cosmetic Pouch/Bag

This was also done when I was making the "Spring Flower" hand bag and duffle bag....this is a patchwork cosmetic pouch...which was made from fat quarters fabrics....

I made a pocket inside the pouch with scrap fabrics as well....
